Integrating Technology Into the Curriculum
This is registration for optional 1-unit of credit for teachers participating in San Diego Computer-Using Educators Technology Fair. Attendance at the Tech Fair and completion of assignment is required to qualify for this optional credit.
These optional units appear on official California State University San Marcos transcripts and generally honored by school districts as evidence of professional advancement for salary increases on the pay scale, but not degree applicable.
To receive Extension
Academic credit in EDUC 1014 you must complete the following*:
1. Attend at least 3 sessions at the event on
November 2, 2013 and visit at least 3 exhibit booths in the vendor area.
Following the Tech
Fair, complete the following 6 pages and submit by December 2, 2013
2. Page One: List each session title, presenter(s),
room and time. For vendors, include company name, software titles, equipment,
or tools you previewed, representative’s name and contact information.
3. Pages 2 – 4: Write a three-page paper (double
spaced, Times New Roman Font with margins at 1”) including at least 2/3 page
describing key elements of each of the three sessions and ½ page on each
Exhibit Booth you visited along with your own commentary on how useful the
information was to you professionally. Include URLs within your descriptions
that may have been recommended.
4. Page 5: Review the NETS standards for Students
and Teachers on the ISTE web site (http://www.iste.org/standards.aspx).
Write a one-page summary of a lesson you plan to take back to the classroom
using the information from your experience at the SDCUE Event.
5. Create a
cover page with your name, contact information and current teaching position or
status of receiving your credential and/or teaching position. Email to Dr.

*For credit all of the elements stated
above must be included in the paper. Spelling and grammar must be correct and
the paper must be written in a professional manner.
