Survey of physical education programs for elementary school children. Addresses the role of, and need for, physical education programs in the elementary school level; examines the California content standards for physical education instrucĀtion; and develops skills in applying that content in the elemenĀtary school setting. Specific attention is given to motor skill and movement concepts; fitness, wellness, exercise physiology and disease prevention; drugs/narcotics, alcohol, tobacco, and nutrition; and to the social, historical, and cultural significance of physical education.
May not be taken for credit by students who have received credit for PE 201.
