PROJECT WET: CALIFORNIA

This registration is for participants who wish to receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for attending the Project WET: California Project WET (Water Education for Teachers).

Course Description: The purpose of this course is for teachers to gain a deeper understanding of the role of water in the environment and California natural resource issues.  Teachers attending this course will receive experience with grade level appropriate activities that will help their students understand the interdisciplinary interplay of science, social science, math and language arts knowledge in studying California water issues. They will benefit by learning effective and engaging ways to integrate water education activities into their existing curriculum and will walk away from the course with over 90 activity already correlated to California Content Standards.

Project WET course objectives include the following:

Introducing participants to local California water issues.
Introducing the role of science in understanding California water issues.
Modeling teaching methods promoting critical thinking skills and a variety of learning modalties.
Introducing participants to the Project WET guide & features for effective use of the guide.
